"Becoming An International Artist"
 
For an emerging artist residencies are very important. Because as you work and exhibit abroad and not in your own country you become an international artist automatically, don't you? But how do you really become an international artist? What has to be done? For sure: Do it in English! In my series in pastel frottages in 20 sheets I asked that myself with some wink, while I was in the Arlberg Hospitz Hotel in Austria where I had a residency in August 2015, surrounded by mountains. Für den aufstrebenden Künstler sind Residencys sehr wichtig. Weil man im Ausland und nicht in seiner Heimat arbeitet und ausstellt, wird man so ganz automatisch ein internationaler Künstler. Aber wie wird man wirklich zum internationalen Künstler? Was muss man tun? Schon mal sicher: Mach' es auf englisch. In meiner Serie aus Pastell-Frottagen in 20 Blättern fragte ich mich dies mit etwas Ironie, während ich im Arlberg Hospitz Hotel in Österreich war, wo ich im August 2015 eine Residency hatte, umgeben von Bergen.
